Update From The Golo Koe Festival

Vinsen Gande, Head of the Environmental Section of the Golo Koe Festival 2026 Committee and Head of the Environmental Agency, explained that this activity has strategic momentum because it coincides with the commemoration of World Environment Day, World Oceans Day, and World Mangrove Day. He explained that this project focuses on planting bamboo and sugar palm in three villages: Pantar, Golo Lucan, and Tanjung Boleng.

The Golo Koe Maria Assumpta Nusantara Festival 2026 returns as a tangible sign of the harmonious community life in Labuan Bajo. Now in its fifth year, the event is not only a religious event but also a grand stage that brings together multi-ethnic and interfaith communities in a spirit of inclusive brotherhood.

The Diocese of Labuan Bajo, together with the West Manggarai Regency Government, officially launched the Labuan Bajo Maria Asumta Nusantara Golo Koe Festival. The Golo Koe Festival’s achievement of consistently ranking among the top 10 Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) events over the past two years is proof of the successful collaboration among various parties in promoting the cultural and religious richness of West Manggarai at the national level.

The Golo Koe Festival highlights the integrity of creation as part of its theme for 2026. The full theme is “A Communal Pilgrimage in Synergistic Fellowship to Care for the Integrity of Creation.” This theme was chosen in response to concerns about the recent environmental crisis, marked by extreme weather and natural disasters in various parts of the world. At the same time, Labuan Bajo and its surrounding areas are being developed as a top-priority tourism destination.

Following the official launch of the Golo Koe Festival 2026, the Organizing Committee today released the complete schedule for the Parish-Level Procession of Our Lady of the Assumption of the Archipelago. This spiritual journey will begin on July 10, 2026, and will visit all parishes within the Diocese of Labuan Bajo through August 5, 2026.
