Update From The Golo Koe Festival

A spirit of diversity and devotion filled the Waterfront City Marina area today with the staging of the Cultural Carnival and the Maria Assumpta Nusantara Grand Dance Performance. As part of the Golo Koe 2026 Festival series, the event served as a grand showcase of Labuan Bajo—a place defined by its multi-ethnic and multi-religious makeup, yet united in harmony and tolerance.

That day, thousands of Catholics, joined by people of diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds, participated in the Maria Assumpta Nusantara Procession—a key event of the Golo Koe Festival 2026. This grand procession, traversing both land and sea, serves as a tangible manifestation of the festival’s overarching theme: “A Communal Pilgrimage in Synergistic Communion to Care for the Integrity of Creation.”

Bina Nusantara University (Binus) is actively participating in the grand Golo Koe Festival 2026, held at Waterfront City, Labuan Bajo, from August 10 to 15, 2026. This involvement serves as a tangible manifestation of the university’s mission to foster and empower the community in a sustainable manner.

A spirit of togetherness and care for the Earth is set to enliven Labuan Bajo. The organizing committee for the Golo Koe Labuan Bajo Maria Assumpta Nusantara Festival 2026 is preparing for this grand event, scheduled to take place from August 10 to 15, 2026, at Waterfront City and other locations. Centered on the theme “Communal Pilgrimage in Synergistic Fellowship to Care for the Integrity of Creation” and the tagline “Walking Together, Restoring the Earth,” the festival is not merely a celebration of culture and faith, but also a collective call to safeguard the preservation of creation.

In order to strengthen the movement to keep the environment clean in anticipation of the Golo Koe Maria Asumta Nusantara 2026 Festival, the Environmental Section of the Festival Committee held a talk show and watch together educational activities on disposing of waste correctly. This activity took place on Monday, July 27 2026, at the Mary Mother of All Nations Church, Wae Kesambi.

Vinsen Gande, Head of the Environmental Section of the Golo Koe Festival 2026 Committee and Head of the Environmental Agency, explained that this activity has strategic momentum because it coincides with the commemoration of World Environment Day, World Oceans Day, and World Mangrove Day. He explained that this project focuses on planting bamboo and sugar palm in three villages: Pantar, Golo Lucan, and Tanjung Boleng.
