In Preparation for the Golo Koe Festival 2026: The Diocese of Labuan Bajo Holds the Procession of Mother Maria Assumpta Nusantara in 26 Parishes

Labuan Bajo, June 4, 2026 – Following the official launch of the Golo Koe Festival 2026, the Organizing Committee today released the complete schedule for the Parish-Level Procession of Our Lady of the Assumption of the Archipelago. This spiritual journey will begin on July 10, 2026, and will visit all parishes within the Diocese of Labuan Bajo through August 5, 2026.

RD Yuvens Rugin, head of the Procession Section of the Golo Koe Festival 2026 Committee, stated that this procession is an expression of faith, specifically devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. In addition, the procession is also a manifestation of the synodal spirit and a means of strengthening the fellowship among the faithful.

“This inter-parish procession of Maria Assumpta Nusantara will take place in an atmosphere of prayer and with cultural elements. Therefore, there will be cultural welcome ceremonies. To that end, we invite all parishioners to take part in this event by wearing appropriate traditional attire,” said Father Yuvens.

This year’s Maria Assumpta Nusantara procession will begin at parishes in the southern region—specifically, the Lengkong Cepang Parish on July 10, 2026—and will conclude at the Holy Spirit Cathedral Parish in Labuan Bajo on August 5, 2026. The statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be carried in a relay procession according to the following main schedule:

Over the past two years, this religious and cultural festival has gained national recognition by ranking among the top 10 events in the Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) list. The festival’s central icon, Our Lady of the Assumption, symbolizes hope and a spiritual pilgrimage toward the fullness of life in the Creator.

The Golo Koe Festival is themed “A Communal Pilgrimage in Synergistic Fellowship to Preserve the Integrity of Creation,” with the tagline “Walking Together, Restoring the Earth.”

After the parish ceremonies conclude, the event will continue with the Festival’s Main Week on August 10–15, 2026, at Waterfront City Marina and Bukit Golo Koe, with the following main events:
